Flights Booked!

Finally booked our Round the World flights :-)

We decided to go with STA as they offer, what they call, a FlexiPass. I think it cost £99 on top of our flights and it allows us to change our flights as often as we want while we are away. STA's fees along with the Airline's will be waived but if there are any increases in the cost of the flight, which they assure us there shouldn't be if you give them plenty of notice, needs to be paid.

Our flights are:

Glasgow to Delhi
Delhi to Bangkok
Singapore to LA
LA to Panama
Rio to Edinburgh

We got all those for just over £1900 including the Flexipass.

If you are going travelling, remember to get a letter from your GP outlining all the medication that you need to carry with you. My plan is to store most of my insulin ect in my holdall but to take a half decent supply in my carry-on and to also put a decent supply in my sisters holdall too in case mine goes missing or gets held up at any point.

I'm personally going to use the Frio wallets to keep my insulin cold while i'm away. If you get the Balance magazine you'll have seen them i'm sure in the ad section. If you haven't, the idea with these is that you immerse in water and the crystals inside the wallet will absorbe the water to form a gel which will keep the insulin cold for at least 45hrs. You then just reactivate the wallet by immersing in water again.

Flying out 17th November 2014. :-D
